Dr. Shouse received his Bachelors's of Animal Science from Davis in 1966, his Masters of Science degree in animal nutrition
in 1967 from the University of California at Davis and his Doctor of
Veterinary Medicine degree from Davis in 1971. He and his family moved
to Ojai in that same year and he joined the staff at Ojai Pet Hospital,
later purchasing the clinic.
Dr. Shouse served as the General Manager of Pet
Emergency Clinics in Ventura and Thousand Oaks from inception of the
clinics in 1979 until 1999. During that time he worked thousands of
hours providing emergency and critical care for the pets of Ventura
County, while still providing day to day care for the pets of his
clients at Ojai Pet Hospital. This has provided him with extensive
experience in crisis management and critical care.
Carolyn Crossett is both the office manager and receptionist for
Ojai Pet Hospital. Carolyn has been with Dr. Shouse for many years,
here and formerly as the office manager for Pet Emergency
Clinics. It is Carolyn who first greets you, monitors your pet's health
care file as well as answers and directs your calls.
Aura Stogsdill grew up here in Ojai. Most of her career life
has been spent caregiving for the elderly and disabled and she has also been a
transcriber for the blind since 2003. She has always been geared toward the
medical and healthcare fields. Her previous education and certifications have
included CNA, EMT, and Pharmacy Technician. She changed her attention from
people to her love of animals and has found it to be her calling.
At Ojai Pet Hospital, our staff is a trained team
ready to assist in your pet's maintenance health care as well as trauma
situations.
